Project Overview
In the spring of 2023, Wolf Creek Race Management reached out to our team at Homer Cinema to produce a documentary about their 100 mile ultramarathon. The goal was to tell a story that would both put their race on the map, and drive participation. Over the fall of 2023, and the spring of 2024, we coordinated the film, shot on location in Pennsylvania and Oregon, and produced this film, along with marketing material and a launch strategy.


Our Approach
Pre-production: We worked with Wolf Creek Race Management to develop a rough script and storyline for the film, to make sure we would stay true to the story that unfolded, while also promoting their race through the process.
Production: Our team managed the documentary production, conducting key interviews in Oregon, and then following Olympian Ben Blankenship through his first 100 mile ultramarathon.
Distribution: Wolf Creek wished to publish the film for free on their YouTube channel, and since there were only 100 subscribers on the channel at the time of launch, we new we needed to build outside momentum to bring eyes to the film. We built a social media launch strategy, worked with a variety of influencers, and published short form content funneling viewers to the film. The film collected over 190,000 Views.
